Online marketers if make videos use YouTube for video storage and its promotion. But for beginners, like I was, with zero clues on where to start, YouTube Marketing may seem like a puzzle.
Fundamental rules to succeed with YouTube Marketing
Thoroughly think of the content in your video before to record it. Remember, that it should be original, curious, and with good portion of the value.
It’s good to write in advance the main points of what you are going to tell. Furthermore, you may even write a complete scenario of your future video and it will help you much.
Try to use some hooks in your topic so that to attract more attention. It will follow to the ‘likes’, ‘subscribes’ and continuous interests to your future videos.
I mean, do not wait that you will be asked after the video regarding the topic and you will reveal the main perks of the topic forward to the conversion or sale. People may leave your video and search other videos for the information they are looking for. So, better catch their interest straight away during your video playing.
Just remember that good content helps to make your video viral and better reach targeting people.
By the way, if you are limited with promotion budget to the video, good quality content might be the best leverage for its promoting.
Call to action
This is the purpose of what you are making the video. That might be not only the goal of selling something but different actions from viewers you want to achieve with the video.
In some of my videos, I ask to make small homework, which (I hope!) push my students to do actions, improve their marketing strategies, and etc >>> so it’s my Call To Actions in such topics.
Appearance of your channel
Here is about your trailers, which will ‘Welcome’ those who come to your channel and play both as for new visitors, who come the first time and going to watch your video and for your loyal subscribers. The trailers might be different according to the purpose. This is your short appeal to your prospects, the chance to ‘hook’ them. Treat this short video as if it were an ad and keep it short and engaging with a compelling Call To Action at the end.
Upload beautiful pictures as a cover of your channel. That is good to use your picture and photo with, than some abstract pictures. People come for a visit your online ‘home’ so it’ll be good if you meet them personally. Organize your channel’s videos and playlists like your ‘carte-de-visite’ for your customers and prospects.
Good description and Meta Tags
Make a description of your channel and videos short and informative. People come to YouTube to watch videos, rather than to read about them. Few links to your targeted pages and contact information in the description is good enough to get in touch with new customers.
Do not forget to use META Tags when you set up your channel and each of your videos. If you’re new and just got started, find your competitors or those who are in the same niche with you and check out what Meta Tags they are using. If they are not new, like you are, be sure, they made detailed analysis for each of Tag they placed.
Background’s music during the video
The music might be quiet and soft if you show and describe something in your video or on the opposite, energetic and pushing if your video contains prose text. It will keep customers’ attention and do not let them go out from the start of video playing.
Frequency of each new video
If you are targeting on doing YouTube Marketing as your primary promotion funnel, you may produce a new video each day. But, if YouTube is one of the Marketing funnels you’re using, I suppose, 2-3 times a week is good enough. Make a point to yourself that such frequency is not only for the consistent follow-up with your prospects but also for the YouTube ranking. YouTube notes how regularly your videos are uploaded to rank them better.
Try to optimize each new video with the proper set of keywords and tags. It has more impact on organic search and SEO ranking than anything.
The channel title and username should be the same and congruent to your business. Build your viewership with powerful end screens on your videos.
Use YouTube Video Manager tools in your videos, such as annotation, subtitles, end screen, different elements that show across desktop and mobile devices or easy-to-use grid and snap-to functionality for Pro editing.
Finally, in general, it doesn’t much matter is it ‘like’ or ‘unlike’ people put after they have seen your video. For the ranking of your channel is counted ‘views’. Several ‘unlikes’ will create part of curiosity to your channel.
And do not forget that any ‘likes’ are viral. When people ‘like’ your video in YouTube, Google+ forwards it, and your Facebook friends and friends of friends have also seen what is ‘liked’. Also, by posting your YouTube videos on your Facebook fan page, fans will be continuously stay updated with regard to your YouTube new video releases, without having to visit the YouTube website separately. Therefore, more views will be achieved and video content will engage the viewers with the brand more effectively.
